Our Community
Reducing Barriers to the Outdoors
Significant barriers exist to non-white and less privileged communities to enjoy public lands and outdoor recreation. In 2020 Avid4 addressed these barriers through:
- Providing over $25,000 in summer camp scholarships.
- Partnering with over 45 organizations that align with our JEDI advocacy efforts.
- Donating over $10,000 to JEDI-focused organizations.
Our Planet
Environmentally Responsible
- In 2020 we offset 100% of direct and indirect vehicle emissions related to our operations.
- We began tracing our supply chain to ensure suppliers meet our social and environmental standards.
- We educate campers about composting, recycling and landfill waste through our waste programs and zero-waste stations at camp.
- There are labeled waste receptacles at all of our camp locations, warehouse facility, and office.
